Our Shop Story
Hi, I’m Misty, the owner and service technician behind Stitches Gone Wild LLC.
I’ve always been curious about how machines work and willing to take things apart to understand them. Long before starting this business, that curiosity led me to repair electronics. As a sewist, it eventually brought me to sewing-machine service and specialized training through the Sewing Doc Academy Service Program.
I started Stitches Gone Wild to give local sewists a careful, straightforward option for maintaining their home sewing machines. I’m especially passionate about helping older machines stay in service for as long as possible. Many older machines still have years of sewing left in them with proper care, and I love the idea of keeping a good machine working instead of seeing it unnecessarily end up in a landfill.
I know how frustrating it is when a machine is not working properly—especially when it interrupts a project you are excited to finish.
I approach each machine methodically, document its condition, test it before and after service, and communicate with the owner before completing additional repairs. My goal is simple: to treat every machine with care, explain things clearly, and return it ready for its owner’s next project.
Our Process
Clear Pricing
Every tune-up includes full internal cleaning, oiling, and precision lubrication. We perform rigorous test sewing before and after every service to verify perfect tension, stitch accuracy, and smooth mechanical balance across all fabrics.
Routine service is flat-rated at $125 for computerized machines and $100 for mechanical and vintage units. Minor repairs—such as belt replacement, bobbin tire installation, cord or light fixes, and tension calibration—are billed at $40 per hour plus required parts.
Expert Care
We offer 3 convenient pickup locations with weekday, weekend, day, and evening drop-off slots. Your sewing machine receives dedicated focus and artisan craftsmanship from start to finish.
